The Trade Union Act makes it more difficult than ever for Unions to take lawful industrial action to protect members and working conditions.

Ballot papers not returned are effectively counted as no votes. Turnout thresholds mean that even a large Yes vote may not give a mandate to take action. That's why its more important than ever that our membership lists are up to date and addresses and contact details are as accurate as possible.
