This morning ASLEF met with Tram Operations Ltd to discuss their plans to introduce a driver vigilance system. We made clear to management that we are opposed in principle to cameras focused on drivers. We also asked for details of the risk assessments that back up their claims that this system is safe and how management would use the information generated. Although we are prepared to continue talking, and will meet again next week, ASLEF have made it clear that we are in dispute on this issue. Ballot papers will be distributed shortly and all members are urged to vote Yes to make sure management are made to listen to your concerns.
