At talks hosted by ACAS yesterday (20/12/2019) London Underground tabled a revised proposal.
As an alternative to the current offer of;
Year 1 – 2.7% (RPI Feb 2019 +0.2%)
Year 2 – 1.4% plus 30-minute reduction in working week (three banked rest
days)
Year 3 – RPI Feb 2021 +0.2%
Year 4 – 1.4% plus further 30-minute reduction in working week (three further
banked rest days);
Management yesterday offered an alternative which they described as an
“Increase-only option”
A pay increase-only deal of RPI +0.2% each year for four years
Minimum increase of £750 in year one (pro-rata for those working less than
35 hours)
It is clear that both of these alternatives are a long way from the ASLEF pay claim which seeks an above inflation pay rise and a reduction in working hours as well as an additional increase for train drivers to close the salary gap with other London Train Operating companies.
Following discussions with Reps and members, ASLEF will formally respond to this offer early in the New Year.
