Members of ASLEF The Train Driver’s Union on London Underground have overwhelmingly backed their union and voted by over 95% to support industrial action if management try to force through changes to terms and conditions.
Negotiations are currently taking place between the Government and TfL on future funding arrangements. ASLEF members will not allow themselves to be used as bargaining chips in those talks.
This ballot result sends a very clear message that our members will not accept agreements being broken, or Covid-19 being used as an excuse to attack our terms and conditions.
Throughout the pandemic ASLEF reps have worked constructively and flexibility to ensure the Underground continued to operate and that a safe service is delivered. We want to keep doing that; But all those involved in the funding discussions need to be aware that we will not hesitate to take action if we need to do so.
Thank you to all of our reps and members who worked so hard to deliver this result.
